Highest state income tax rates

• Hawaii: 11%.
• New York: 10.9%.
• New Jersey: 10.75%.
• District of Columbia: 10.75%. 

States with no income tax
Seven states have no individual income tax at all, though they may have other forms of tax, such as property or sales taxes, to generate revenue. These states are: 

• Alaska
• Florida
• Nevada
• South Dakota

• Texas
• Wyoming

New Hampshire and Washington also have no earned income tax but do tax certain types of income. For example, Washington levies a tax on long-term capital gains, and New Hampshire previously taxed interest and dividend income (phased out in 2025).

Looking at income tax alone does not tell the whole story. States with no income tax often have other taxes to fund public services. The United States of America could become an equal + better than Canada with lower expenses per person easily 

Technically a single person not business should see taxes at no more than 25% in tiers with 0-5%, 5-15%, 15-25% in a tiered effort based on income. More than that is dislogical

That is $250,000 on the $1 Million which people require an investment to address to break even & disregard (not everyone can)
